For
MAYOR

Perry is a unique community with strong traditional values which make it a great place for families and businesses to thrive and prosper. It has unique physical qualities which provide for those traveling through the state and attractions for those extending their stay. With strong leadership and skilled management, Perry will continue to be a leading community in the State of Georgia.

As your Mayor, I will:

1) Work closely with the City Council and city personnel to provide the leadership and management to ensure the city continues to grow and prosper while protecting the lifestyle and traditional values citizens cherish. Growth will come and is necessary for the future financial welfare of all; but this growth must be “managed growth”.

2) Work to communicate with all citizens effectively so that they are aware of the issues before the City government and listen to their concerns and suggestions to make our community an even better place to live.

3) Work with local businesses to build a business-friendly environment in Perry that will support a vibrant business community, nurture future growth and create new jobs.

4) Work to ensure essential services are provided to all citizens efficiently and cost effective.

5) Focus on Public Safety so that Perry continues to remain a safe environment in which to live and conduct business.

6) Work with citizens and city personnel. We will develop city events, parks , trail systems and recreational opportunities that will enhance the quality of life for all citizens, making Perry a fun place to live and visit.

7) Work to develop good working relationships with city, county and state governments to ensure Perry is well represented throughout the state.

8) Be available to all citizens, committing the time and energy required to fulfill the duties as Mayor of the City of Perry and to promote Perry’s unique qualities.

About Randall Walker

A 1964 graduate of Warner Robins High School and a 1969 graduate of Georgia State University with majors in Business Management and Marketing, Randall Walker joined Chevron Corporation where he served in various marketing/management positions. After 43 years he retired from Chevron and formed Walker Energy Group, LLC, an energy consulting firm. In August of 2003, Randall and his wife, Terre Moody Walker, purchased a family home in Perry and made it their primary residence in 2005. After living in over 14 cities and communities throughout the U.S., Perry was their place of choice to retire.

With an extensive career in corporate management, Randall felt it time to use the skills learned in corporate America in the public service arena. He was elected as City Councilman of Post 1, District 3 in 2009, and has served in that post for the last 9 ½ years. During that time, he has demonstrated leadership and the ability to set objectives, implement and accomplish them.

His goal is to continue to build upon Perry’s unique assets. Perry’s central location along major transportation routes in a growing state provides an opportunity to appeal to businesses seeking to expand their production and distribution networks. As home of the Georgia National Fair Grounds and Agricenter, Perry is a destination for over a million visitors a year. These guest experience Perry’s southern hospitality and are charmed by its quaint historical downtown.

One of Perry’s greatest assets is its citizens. Randall seeks to serve them by creating an environment for job growth, educational opportunities and services which enrich their lives while yet preserving for generations to come all that makes Perry dear to them.
